The saxophone quartet Ensemble 4Saxess is the leading ensemble of its kind in Slovenia. In its 15 years of existence, it has established itself in Europe and the United States. Its two main goals are commissioning new works and collaborating directly with composers. The quartet is regularly invited to major music festivals (Venice Biennale, World Music Days, Ljubljana Festival, Composer’s Tribune Belgrade...) and to concert halls in Paris, Berlin, Zagreb, Munich, Washington, New York, and Vienna. The members are internationally recognized pedagogues who regularly give masterclasses at prestigious music universities during their tours. Additionally, they are well-established and respected concert musicians, receiving positive critical reviews. The ensemble collaborates successfully with the label ZKP RTV Slovenia, with which it has released two CDs, 4 Folk and 4 US.

The concept of "Ljubljana – Vienna" aims to show the connection between the two cities through the perspective of the selected works and the musical guests. For this concert, Ensemble 4Saxess will be joined by Carinthian baritone Gabriel Lipuš and award-winning violinist Petra Kovačič, who has been a full member of the Vienna Philharmonic since 2019.
