Aïda Muluneh On the edge of the past
Full of symbolism, vibrant colours and bold patterns, the photographs of contemporary Ethiopian artist Aïda Muluneh (1974) aim to reflect and raise awareness. Through her exceptional visual language, the photographer's work highlights pressing global issues such as inequalities in access to water, food or education, and the abuse of power, while advocating for the empowerment of women.
With Aïde Muluneh's exhibition On the Edge of the Past Future at Jakopič Gallery, in collaboration with Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, we continue our vision of presenting to the Slovenian public perhaps lesser-known but important photographic exhibitions that address global social issues.
Seven of the artist's photographic series, created over the last decade, will be on show.
