Guided tour of the exhibition From Corset to Jacket
The exhibition is designed as a walk through the history of dress, bringing together some 400 pieces from the museum's textile collection.
The exhibition is divided into several thematic sections. It opens with the beginnings of the collection, followed by a presentation of the milliner's and tailor's salons. The Messages of Clothing for Special Occasions section presents garments associated with milestones in the circle of life - baptism, marriage, death. The Underclothes section presents underwear, which was very diverse and loose for women until the introduction of elastic materials, with the exception of corsets. This is followed by a presentation of evening and formal dresses, Ljubljana's fashion craftsmen and merchants, and dresses worn by famous Ljubljanaers.
