The Dire Straits Experience

Description
It has been more than forty years since the intro of "Sultans of Swing" was first heard on radio stations worldwide. Over time, we came to know the exceptional guitarist and songwriter Mark Knopfler, and a new musical legacy was born: the music of Dire Straits.

The last concert in the region was this February in Zagreb. It was organized in record time and had the entire Lisinski Hall on its feet from start to finish. The comments on social media were spectacular:

"Fantastic performance and fantastic band! I didn't expect such quality musicians."
"Terence Reis, with his unique touch, proved to be an excellent replacement for Mark Knopfler."
"What an evening, what a band! I'm thrilled and will come to every one of their concerts!"
"Outstanding!"

The Dire Straits Experience thrills its fans with an exclusive concert of their greatest hits. It's been over 35 years since Dire Straits disbanded, leaving behind a legacy of legendary tracks and hits that emerged during the rise of rock. If anything, their reputation has only grown over time. With over 120 million albums sold, their record sales continue to climb as more young fans discover their music and join the global following.

In the wake of this over three-decade hiatus—and with the growing need to hear one of the most dramatic bodies of work in rock history live again—Dire Straits members Alan Clark, Chris White, and Phil Palmer formed The Straits for a charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011. With Mark Knopfler pursuing a remarkably successful solo career, Alan Clark asked songwriter Terence Reis to lead the band in Knopfler's absence. By the time The Straits disbanded three and a half years later, they had played over 400 concerts in 35 countries worldwide.

Chris White and Terence Reis were invited to perform a series of concerts in New Zealand and Australia, thus reviving The Dire Straits Experience. They were joined by a group of some of the finest British musicians, who have worked with rock legends such as Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Elton John, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Van Morrison, Tom Jones, Sheryl Crow, and more.

Chris White, who has been collaborating with Mark Knopfler on film scores since the early 1980s, joined Dire Straits in 1985 for the record-breaking Brothers In Arms world tour. This included their performance at Live Aid and later at Nelson Mandela's 70th Birthday Concert in 1988. He played on Dire Straits' final album, On Every Street, and took part in the subsequent two-year world tour, which resulted in a live album and the DVD On the Night.

The iconic song "Brothers in Arms," with its strong anti-war message, is more relevant today than ever due to the ongoing global conflicts. We invite all fans of Dire Straits' legacy to join us in celebrating their exceptional music.
