Transport: Cargo is one of six performances of Tin Grabnar, a major international co-production project that brings together six theatres from five countries.
In the 2024/25 season, Grabnar will stage six interconnected original performances in six different theatres that interlock thematically, dramaturgically and visually. Each performance will be an independent unit, but together they will form new wholes in different combinations. What they all have in common is the theme of transport and how it affects our lives and our planet. Maribor's story of the international omnibus Transport will shed light on the role of the individual within a complex logistical structure.
Co-produced by Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana (Slovenia), Maribor Puppet Theatre (Slovenia), Alfa Theatre (Czech Republic), Eesti Noorsooteater (Estonia), Klaipėda Puppet Theatre (Lithuania), Białystok Puppet Theatre (Poland)
The Maribor Puppet Theatre became a professional theatre in the 1974/75 season. It puts on performances for children and adults, organises the annual Summer Puppet Pier and hosts the most important national puppet festival, which is held every two years by the Foundation of Slovenian Puppeteers. It performs in Slovenia and abroad. The theatre is located in the renovated Minorite monastery in Maribor.
